We all knew that the launch of the new iphone 3G was going to be a hype-fest. But, would it matter to app makers? Would it move the needle on traffic to their sites?
Here's one data point that points to a big yes. Upstart UrbanSpoon's traffic has soared since launch of its iphone app, aided by great coverage in TechCrunch, the NYTimes, and enGadget who have all had good things to say about the UrbanSpoon app.
UrbanSpoon, with a team of just 4 fulltime employees, is now neck-and-neck with the mighty zagat.com when it comes to traffic for restaurant reviews (according to Alexa data).
