How Can YOU Help socialmedian Weather The Financial Crisis?

Thank you everyone for all the great responses and feedback to our blog post on Friday regarding how this small scrappy startup is surviving (and growing) during the financial crisis.  Your emails and comments on this have been great.

A number of you have asked me what YOU could do to help socialmedian weather the financial crisis.
Wow!  We never anticipated that sort of a response.  It's really flattering and downright awesome that socialmedian's early users are so interested in our future growth and survival.

As I've noted, our primary focus right now is on making socialmedian more engaging for our users -- so we're staying small and moving fast while we do that so that we spend as little money as possible while we focus on creating product you and others will love.

Usage and growth and burn are 3 areas that you can help us with though.
I've put some thought to it over the weekend and I'd like to take you up on the offer to help.  Here's what you can do.

The number 1 thing you can do to help is to invite your friends and contacts to join socialmedian.  And that's really easy to do.  You can invite your friends to socialmedian by:
  1. Get our Facebook application and invite your Facebook contacts to follow you on socialmedian.
  2. Facebook limits the number of people you can invite to an application per day.  So, if you already have our Facebook application, you can go back to the application page daily and invite more people.
  3. Invite your Gmail, MSN, and Twitter contacts to follow you on socialmedian using our invite tools.
That really is the best thing you can do to help.  Introduce socialmedian to 10 more people and you just helped us a ton.  The data is pretty darn clear that most people who try socialmedian like it and use it regularly.  So, let's spread the love.

The second thing you can do is pass along some feature suggestions.  Let us know what we can do to make socialmedian better and more engaging for you.  You can suggest a feature on this comment thread, or using by our customer service tools.

And, if you really want to help us weather the storm, you can provide us with some revenue.  Seriously.  Just drop us a 5'er or a 10'er (or more if you want!) if you like what we're doing and we promise to pump every penny of it back into building a better and better product for you.  (Hey, no one EVER called us conventional!)

Thanks

-jason & the socialmedian team
